We discussed various accessibility problems and limitation of changes that can be done to the program.
We lookd also into Firefox Accessibility Extenssion (http://firefox.cita.uiuc.edu) and Functional Accessibility Evaluator (http://fae.cita.uiuc.edu) and how they can be used to identify potential accessibility problems.
Some of the Discussed and illustrated accessibility problems are:
- lack of form control
- Lack of headings for navigation bars
- lack of headings for major sections of a page
- Title element and H1 relationship
- problem with multi-tabs pages
- Problem with Image map
- Problem with use of inline formatting markups; high contrast; page reflow
- Problem with default language settings for each page and the content if needed

- Accessibility report on Advance Search and Course reserves tabs (Hadi)
- No immediate solution for the relevancy problem; potential solution: calculate the number of starts/relevancy icons and display them as number (Jon Gorman)
- Set alt='' for disabled imaged (Paige)
- Looking into high contrast view problem (Jon Gorman)
- Problem with tab navigation; fixed real-time; "Search tabs" (H2), Tab element (H3); redesigning tabs as list is not in our control
- Looking into adding a heading for the buttom navigation bar (Jon Gorman)
- Considering to replace the image map navigation bar with a mor universal solution (Jon Gorman)
- Implement redundant links for image map is possible if we stick with image map (Jon Gorman)
- Considering to improve the use of style sheet as much as in our control (Paige)
- Default language can not be set in the HTML tag but it seems that it works in the BODY tag (Paige)
- No control over the default language setting for content (result page); this issue with be discussed wit with the CARLI programming staff (Paige)
- Timeout counter is an INPUT element and has no label
- Limited control over the title element; default title can be changed; some pages in the search
