Mirapoint teleconference Minutes 5/17/07 Carl Brasic Next Meeting • Date: Friday June 8, 2007 • Time: 12:00 PM EDT; 11:00 AM EDT; 10:00 AM MDT; 9:00 AM PDT • Phone: 217 244-0518 Attendees * Hadi Rangin * Jon Gunderson * Matt Anderson * Carl Brasic Discussion Looking to target the frame-based version of Mirapoint Webmail without javascript Hidden Frame – provide title Right hand frame title holds different content (list of messages, single message, preferences) Hadi – Talking about 1. Frame name 2. Title for Page 3. Main heading for page Jon – Dynamically updating frame title not top priority. More important to use valid header structure. Hadi would like to integrate these practices into main coding practices at Mirapoint. Possible that engineer support will not be there to implement these changes Labeling Frames Left hand frame: Mail Menu Right hand frame: Message Frame Blank: title="" Labels for form controls Screen reader users do not see the information around form control, so they need labels. Titling Mail Views H1 should be used for titling current mail view 1. Inbox or mail box name (The contents of the H1 should also be the page title) Message Lists Paging Control (How many messages you have and prev/next) is important info H2: Main Mail Menu (in left frame) Or just Main Menu To make look and feel the same, use css positioning to position H2 element and other headers offscreen. Headers will be used for header navigation H2: List of messages XX to YY [sorted by status | attachment | Priority | From | Subject | Date | Size] [in descending | ascending order] (in right frame) Possibility to change branding H2: Message Options E.g. delete prev next H2: Sort Options H3: From H4: Subjects H5: Date H6: Size Access Keys Number keys are good access keys for internationalization purposes and because there are less conflicts with existing shortcuts 1: List of e-mails 2: Search 3: Main Mail Options 4: Previous Messages lists 5: Next Messages Lists 7: Move/Selected combo box 8: Move Button 0: Delete Button
